Visakhapatnam: Bajaj Finance Ltd., India’s largest Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) in the private sector, and part of Bajaj Finserv, on Sunday organised its financial literacy programme, titled ‘Arthsutra Samvad’ in the interior region of Paderu mandal in Alluri Sitharamaraju district.
A similar awareness program is scheduled on December 8 in Araku town, continuing efforts to promote financial literacy across the district.
The pan-India programme aims to further financial inclusion across villages and underbanked locations in India’s hinterland.
‘Arthsutra Samvad’, is being implemented under RBI’s initiative for augmenting financial literacy and awareness. It aims to create awareness about financial discipline, online frauds and good practices in money management.
Dignitaries including Sanyasi Naidu, CI of Police Lakshmana Murthy, Deputy Tehsildar M. Malini, Chaitanya Shravanthi NGO members and Somulu, Headmaster, Minilmuluru School attended the event.
The event was organised at Chaitanya Sravanthi’s premises in Minimuluru, an NGO working for the empowerment of tribal women.
Bajaj Finance's ‘Arthsutra Samvad’ is a comprehensive programme to foster financial awareness and empowerment at the grassroots level across India’s hinterlands. At its core, the initiative aims to simplify personal finance for individuals, helping them make informed choices with confidence and clarity.
Sanyasi Naidu addressed the gathering, emphasizing the alarming rise in fraud cases and the critical need for financial literacy and fraud awareness.
He stated
"Nearly 700 individuals from backward communities in this region are languishing in jails because fraudsters and ganja agents exploited them for financial gain. While the agents escape unpunished, innocent people bear the brunt of these crimes. Fraudsters often target unsuspecting individuals—never allow anyone to use your bank account or phone number for any reason. Warn your children against becoming carriers for quick profits and easy money. Once caught, the consequences are severe and life-altering."
